The discordian calendar is strongly based on the 5 figure. The discordian year has 5 seasons of 73 days each. The seasons are : Chaos, Discord, Confusion, Bureaucracy, and Aftermath.

The discordian week counts of course 5 days which have the name of the 5 (discordian) elements : Sweetmorn, Boomtime, Pungenday, Prickle-Prickle, and Setting Orange.

Because of the calendar structure, the sequence of the days is always identical every year.

The fifth day of each season is an apostle feast : Mungoday, Mojoday, Syaday, Zaraday and Maladay.

The 50th day of each season is the season feast : Chaosflux, Discoflux, Confuflux, Bureflux, and Afflux.

The day of 'Saint Tibb' happens one time every 4 years between the 59th and the 60th day of the Chaos season. It corresponds to the additional day of the leap year. This day is not a day of a week.

The discordian calendar begins the year of the Hung Mung Illumination. Hung Mung is the Chinese sage who imagined (created ?) the Holy Chaos in 1166 before JC.
